It’s moments like this that make me really love what I do
When Glyn contacted me to be a part of this romantic proposal, to secretly take photos of his proposal to Shevelle, I couldn’t say yes fast enough!
What a thoughtful idea for such a special moment. For those of us that have been there, at least when I speak for myself and my own engagement, all I remember is a blur of nerves, emotions, love and excitement. But to be able to have photos of that moment is something truly unique
It was a Friday evening around 5:45pm, when myself and Joel (the very talented musician also in on the plot to surprise Shevelle) met up on Crescent Road. Everything was going exactly as planned until the skies decided to open up and pour on us. Between the guitar and the camera equipment, this was a bit of a mess, but Joel and I stuck it out because this was not something you wanted to miss. The plan was for Joel and I to “hide in plain sight”, but due to the lack of other park patrons on account of the storm, this proved to be slightly challenging, as you can see
At 6pm, Glyn and Shevelle came walking up the path (how he convinced her to walk in the rain in her stunning dress, with her hair and makeup all done I’ll never know)
I’ll let the photos tell the rest of the story…
Then, courtesy of a handpicked playlist from Glyn, Joel played and sang as the newly engaged couple danced in the rain
On account of the rain, and their excitement to go celebrate, we decided to meet up the following day for the E-session. I was actually really happy that it turned out this way, it allowed us to explore a bit in Inglewood and also incorporate more of who they are as a couple, including some very musical props!
It was truly a pleasure to work with Glyn and Shevelle, so obviously head over heels in love, so very excited for what’s ahead
Congrats you two!!
